Gerrard's Electrical Solutions is an independent electrical business serving Chester and surrounding areas. It is led by Shaun Barratt, who has more than 10 years of hands-on experience carrying out domestic and small commercial electrical work.
The business was built around a straightforward idea: customers should be able to understand what is wrong, what work is actually needed and what they are paying for. That means practical advice, appropriate electrical testing and clear communication rather than unnecessary work or technical jargon.
From fault finding and EICRs to consumer units, rewiring, smart home systems and smaller electrical alterations, each job is approached around the condition of the existing installation and what the customer genuinely needs.

Electrical problems are not always obvious. A circuit can keep tripping without showing where the fault is, an older consumer unit can still be serviceable, and a renovation can uncover wiring that was installed or altered years earlier.
Having encountered poor workmanship and unsafe electrical installations during his time in the trade, Shaun wanted Gerrard's Electrical Solutions to work differently: investigate first, explain the findings and recommend work that is proportionate to the installation.

Testing, Certification and Current Electrical Practice
Electrical installation work is carried out to the applicable requirements of BS 7671, with inspection and testing forming part of the work where required. The appropriate electrical certificate or report is provided for work that requires one.
That applies whether the job is a new circuit, an alteration, a consumer unit replacement or an inspection of an existing installation. The paperwork should reflect the work that was actually completed.
